Car Monitoring and Safety

Drive Safely with Exo: We monitor all vehicles in real time and can block any car if necessary. Please drive responsibly and avoid speeding.

Speeding Penalties: Speeding in the UAE comes with significant fines. Repeated violations may lead to termination of your rental agreement without refund.

Abu Dhabi Speed Limits: In Abu Dhabi, even exceeding the posted speed limit by +1 km/h results in fines. Always follow the road signs carefully.

General Speed Limits: Never exceed posted limits. Speedometer readings may vary due to tires, temperature, or maintenance. The 19 km/h buffer is to help avoid fines, not to allow overspeeding.

Driving Restrictions

Prohibited Areas:

  • Off-road/Desert Driving: Strictly forbidden. AED 5,000 fine applies.
  • Do not drive beyond the edge of paved roads — even 1m into sand can get the car stuck.

Other Restrictions: Racing or unauthorized activities are prohibited.

Vehicle Damage and Emergencies

If a tire or wheel is damaged, call Exo immediately for assistance.

If the damage is not your fault, contact us immediately for an insurance report.

Police reports are mandatory for all accidents/damages. Without them, you cover full repair costs.

Deposit Options

  • Pay service fee AED 300–10,000 (car model based) = no deposit required.
  • Pay refundable deposit AED 3,000–20,000 (car model based), returned in 25 days.

Additional Fees

  • Dubai Traffic Fines – Any unpaid fines.
  • Other Emirates Fines – Unpaid fines + AED 5,000.
  • Black Points – AED 200 each.
  • Salik Tolls – AED 5 each.
  • Fuel Charges – 1% = AED 2.5 (e.g. 75% empty = AED 175).
  • Excess KM – AED 20–80 per km over 250 km/day.
  • Airport Parking – AED 100.

Vehicle Damage Costs

  • Rim scratch – AED 500–10,000
  • Body scratch – AED 5,000–15,000
  • Front bumper – AED 2,000–10,000
  • Rear bumper – AED 5,000–15,000
  • PPF scratch – AED 1,000–5,000
  • Cabrio roof – AED 10,000
  • Interior spills – AED 1,500–3,000

Prohibited Actions

  • Speed over 140 km/h = immediate car seizure, no refund.
  • Stopping for photos on bridges (e.g., Meydan) – AED 12,000 fine.
  • Noise violations (revving, etc.) – subject to fines.
  • Distracted phone use – prohibited and fined.
  • Smoking inside vehicle – AED 2,000 cleaning fee.
  • Late return: 30+ mins = 50% daily rate, 1+ hr = 100% daily rate.

Navigation and Insurance

Navigation: Use Waze Maps in Dubai for best accuracy.

Insurance: Driver-fault or no police report = AED 10,000 + 10–20% repair cost. Not your fault + documents submitted = no payment.

Refund Policy

Cancel at least 3 days before rental start date for full refund.

Driver Requirements

The driver must be at least 18 years old to rent and drive with Exo.
